Problem

ConsoleOne will not operate on Red Hat 9, and the LD_ASSUME solution doesn't work properly.

Solution

Create a script and set it to start automatically. Here are the steps to follow:

1. Open up a text editor (vi, vim, pico, nano, etc.) and type in the following:

#! /bin/bash

Echo setting LD_ASSUME_KERNEL variable for eDirectory

Export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.2.5

2. Save the file to /etc/profile.d and name it as LDAssume.sh

3. Type the following at a terminal:

Chmod 755 /etc/profile.d/LDAssume.sh

When the script starts, ConsoleOne should run fine.
